The victim and suspect involved in a fatal shooting in Waunakee are being identified.
Police said Saturday that the alleged shooter, Ronald Jenne, 74, shot a woman Friday identified by the Dane County Medical Examiner's office as Julie Virginia Anderson, 54, in the presence of her 15-year-old son and four-year-old grandson at the Creekside Condominiums.
Waunakee Police Chief Kevin Plendl says Jenne had several interactions with police this year, including some incidents that raised concerns about his mental health. Plendl says police have not determined a motive.
Jenne lived at the complex. His unit was across the hallway from Anderson.
Jenne is in custody. Investigators are recommending he be charged with first degree intentional homicide.
