First Responders Honored at Sun Prairie Football Game

On Friday night, the Sun Prairie High School football team hosted a game that was about more than football.

The Cardinals held 'First Responders Night,' where they honored the police, fire and EMS first responders. Special jerseys were made for the game. They will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Sun Prairie Disaster Relief Fund.

The special guests of honor were several first responders who were hurt in the gas explosion last month, as well as the family of Cory Barr, the firefighter who died that day.

"You know, I see Cory's fellow fire and police and EMS come out, and I feel like I'm his representation. So, I'm so proud of everybody. I know he would be too," said Barr's wife, Abby.

The Cardinals also had special T-shirts printed for the event.

Attendance was free for all.
