Fitchburg Police arrest four teens in stolen vehicle case

FITCHBURG (WKOW) — Early Tuesday morning, Fitchburg Police saw a stolen car on the 5800 block of Dawley Dr. being approached by a male from a nearby residence.

An officer attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle drove off at a high rate of speed.

Shortly thereafter, another officer found the car parked and abandoned at a nearby business. While checking the car, the officer noticed the suspects in a nearby wooded area.

The officer commanded the suspects to come out – but they refused. Madison Police brought in a K9, and the suspects finally came out. They were arrested without further resistance.

A 15 and 16-year-old male were arrested, along with an 18-year-old male and 16-year-old female. They all face charges relating to the car theft, along with charges for resisting an officer. The 18-year-old male, Donovan Simpson, of Madison, also faces charges for Bail Jumping.

The stolen car was discovered to have several expensive electronic items and garage door openers inside that are believed to have been recently stolen.
