Increased security expected to continue at La Follette

MADISON (WKOW) — Students at La Follette High School can expect to see long lines again Friday. The school will use metal detecting wands again, two days after a shooting near campus and another shooting involving students on a Metro bus last week.

Officials say unlike Thursday, Friday there will be two entrances open instead of just one.

Parents have told WKOW 27 News they will also be arriving at the high school between 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. to show unity and community support for the students.  They say they’ll be greeting them and passing out doughnuts as they wait in the security line.

Next week the school expects to go back to its normal level of security.
