Driver killed in Westport crash identified as Stoughton man

The Dane County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Grant Schnelle, 32, of Stoughton.

Schnelle’s truck went off Highway 19 Wednesday and rolled over in the Town of Westport.

UPDATE (WKOW) — A man is dead following a one car crash near Waunakee Wednesday morning.

Officials from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Wisconsin Highway 19 in the town of Westport at about 6 a.m.

An investigation shows a truck was traveling westbound when the driver crossed the center line, went into a ditch and rolled.

A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATE (WKOW) — Lanes are clear after a one car crash in Dane County Wednesday morning.

All lanes of Wisconsin 19 were closed at Walter Road near Waunakee for nearly an hour while crews responded to the scene.

Dane County dispachers told 27 News it’s possible there were injuries.

WAUNAKEE (WKOW) — The Dane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

It happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Wisconsin highway 19. All lanes are blocked in both directions. It’s possible there were injuries.

According to Dane County dispatch, the intersection of STH 19 and Walter Road is closed.

Alternate routes are being developed.
