Authorities investigate string of Dane County armed robberies

DANE COUNTY (WKOW) — Authorities think an armed robbery that happened this week in the Village of Marshall could be connected to another robbery in Dane County.

The crime in Marshall happened at the Mobil on Main Street Wednesday at about 6:45 p.m.

Officials said two black men entered the gas station and told a customer to get on the floor. The suspects took the customer’s wallet and moved on to the register.

One of the men was wearing a white mask, like the one Michael Myers wore in the movie Halloween, and he had a gun. He threatened to shoot the clerk if she didn’t open the register. The other suspect went around the counter and took money and cigarettes. No one was hurt.

The suspects ran away, but police think they may have had a vehicle nearby.

Authorities believe this robbery is related to a robbery that happened earlier Wednesday at a BP in Madison.

If you know anything about these robberies call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.
