MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police have identified a suspect in the shooting incident early Sunday where five people were injured.

Cole W. Foster, 35, Madison, faces charges of first degree reckless endangering safety.

Foster was a patron at the nightclub and is believed to have fired a gun inside Visions, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and have not yet determined what caused the disturbance that led to gunfire.

Cole is expected to appear in Dane County Circuit Court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police were called about 1:45 a.m. for a report of a large fight and shots fired. Upon arrival, a large crowd was found and there were five injured, according to a Madison Police department incident report.

Four of the victims were injured by gunfire and one individual was stabbed.

Of the individuals who were shot, one required surgery. The other gunshot victims did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The victim who was stabbed was treated and medically cleared.

At the time this incident occurred, there were an estimated 40 to 50 people present as patrons in the bar.

Police say the fight may have broken out over a re-entry issue where someone was originally kicked out of the bar.
