No probable cause for charges in deadly Sun Prairie explosion

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) — Sun Prairie officials today said they have found no probable cause to pursue criminal charges related to the explosion July 10 that killed a Sun Prairie firefighter and destroyed numerous downtown buildings.

During a Wednesday news conference, Sun Prairie Police Chief Chief Patrick Anhalt said the explosion was caused by a crew from VC Tech after the intersection of Main and Bristol streets was improperly marked.

Investigators say the intersection was not completely marked because of miscommunication between subcontractors.
