Madison police respond to multiple shots fired calls

MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police responded to multiple shots fired calls around downtown Madison early Friday morning.

Police say officers were originally called to the 100 block of East Gorham for a person with a gun. When officers got there they heard about three shots in the distance on East Johnson Street. At the same time, police say there were multiple calls coming in from residents on East Johnson who were saying they heard “what sounded like gunshots.”

There were casings found in the 100 block and 1400 block of East Johnson Avenue, according to police. They say there was no property damage found and no has been reported hurt at this time.

Then minutes after the last shots were heard on East Johnson Avenue, police say there multiple callers of shots fired in the 3500 block of Packers Avenue. The area was checked but no casings were located, no damage to property, or any reported injuries at this time.

Police say it’s unknown at this time if all of these calls are related or not.
