Boy who witnessed Madison attempted homicide testifies in court

This week, prosecutors will attempt to prove a suspect was trying to kill a man outside a home in Madison last year.

The trial for Jesse Bodie, 31, started Tuesday. He faces a first-degree attempted homicide charge.

Bodie is accused of shooting Eldridge Taylor, 28, during a confrontation outside his family’s home on Northport Drive.

Bodie’s 11-year-old nephew told the court he saw it all happen from inside his grandmother’s apartment.

The shooting happened in the middle of the day last March in a parking lot. A criminal complaint said the victim was upset with Bodie for disrespecting his mother.

The victim did survive the shooting.
