Mother of Whitehorse student speaks out

MADISON (WKOW) — The mother of an 11-year-old Madison middle school student who claims to have been assaulted by an educator says she and her daughter have been treated poorly by school officials, police and the district attorney.

Mikiea Price, her pastor and advocates held a news conference Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Price maintained her daughter’s lodging of the complaint last month has left Price inadequately helped by any stakeholder, and at times questioned about her own care of her child.

Pastor Marcus Allen says he has watched a surveillance video of a portion of the girl’s encounter last month with a positive behavior coach. Allen says the educator pushed the girl to the ground, and Allen said he awaits the employee’s “arrest.”
