Gas leak prompts evacuations in Lodi

Police are asking people to avoid the City of Lodi after a gas leak in the downtown area prompted authorities to evacuate homes and businesses due to the gas leak and flooding.

Flooding has caused furnaces in buildings not to work properly, and they were pumping out natural gas. All of the power adn gas is being shut off in downtown Lodi, and people should plan on it being shut off all night.

A shelter will be set up by the red cross at lodi elementary school for people without shelter.
