4 area teens arrested after"high-risk" traffic stop on stolen vehicle

MADISON (WKOW) — A group of teens who stole a car were arrested following a “high-risk” traffic stop in Madison Wednesday, according to the Madison Police Department.

Officials said the four teenagers were arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Fish Hatchery Road at Plaenert Driver. The stolen vehicle, which was unlocked with the keys inside, was taken on Tuesday.

One officer got behind the car and another officer blocked it from the front. When officers searched the car they found marijuana and items that were believed to have been stolen. Someone also wrote “f*** the police” on one of the interior doors.

The car owner said a laptop was missing from the vehicle, as well as other personal belongings.

A 14-year-old Fitchburg girl was driving the car at the time police stopped the car. She and her three passengers were taken to the Juvenile Reception Center. They range in age from 14 to 16.
