Foxconn breaks ground on factory in Racine County

MOUNT PLEASANT (WISN) — Foxconn is starting to build its factory in Racine County.

The tech company broke ground on the site in Mount Pleasant on Thursday.

Once the factory is up and running, workers will make small LCD screens.

Earlier this year, reports indicated the factory was on hold or possibly dead. But Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave was not concerned.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Foxconn on a weekly basis. I was always confident that Foxconn was going to have a big presence in Racine County,” he told WISN 12 News.

Racine County officials say the factory will cover more than one million square feet.
