Two face drug charges after police clock them going 100 mph on the Beltline

Two Madison men are facing drug charges after an early morning traffic stop by Monona police.

A Monona police officer began following a vehicle about 12:45 a.m. Friday on the Beltline over the Yahara River Bridge after the officer said it was driving in an erratic manner and at an excessive speed, according to a police department news release.

As the officer attempted to keep pace with the vehicle, which the officer estimated was traveling in excess of 100 mph, it exited onto John Nolen Drive.

The car was stopped on Olin Avenue in the city of Madison.
