Challenger Satya Rhodes-Conway will become Madison’s next mayor after defeating incumbent Paul Soglin.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Rhodes-Conway is the first person to defeat Soglin in a mayoral election since 2003.
Rhodes-Conway will be Madison’s first openly gay mayor and the second woman to hold the office.
