Recount widens margin in McFarland race to two votes

A recount in McFarland’s village president race concluded giving the victory to the incumbent by a margin of two votes.

Brad Czebotar defeated his challenger, Carolyn Clow 1,188 to 1,186.

On election night, Czebotar held a lead of only one vote, but village staff found an additional, unopened absentee ballot on Monday.

Wednesday’s recount revealed that ballot was cast for Czebotar, widening his margin of victory.
