State Patrol responds to six serious injury accidents

State Patrol officers were busy Thursday morning responding to multiple accidents as weather created hazardous driving conditions.

Wisconsin State Patrol officers told 27 News the southwest region office responded to six serious injury accidents, 12 accidents with property damage, and 19 runoffs since 6 a.m. Thursday.

Officers gave an example of one accident on I-39 north of Portage where a vehicle had gone off the road and the owner’s dog went missing. The dog was found unhurt, and the driver did not sustain any serious injuries.

State Patrol cautioned drivers to take it slow given the late-season winter weather affecting much of the area.
