April 15, 2019 – At approximately 12:05am, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 GMC Envoy in the Town of Blooming Grove. When the deputy was attempting contact, the driver fled the traffic stop in his vehicle and subsequently crashed into a utility pole about a third of a mile away from the traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot after the crash but the crash resulted in the utility pole being snapped in half and live wires exposed at the scene of the crash.The driver of the vehicle has not been located yet and anyone with information should contact the sheriffs office through the non-emergency dispatch number. Fair Oaks Avenue between Chicago and Webb Avenues are closed down while crews repair the damage to the utility pole. The road will be closed until at least 7am this morning.
