More than $25,000 worth of counterfeit bills collected by Cross Plains cops

CROSS PLAINS (WKOW) — Dozens of counterfeit $100 bills have been collected by police in Cross Plains recently, according to an alert sent out by the Cross Plains Police Department.

Authorities are reminding people in the area to be vigilant if you are handed a $100 bill. They recommend checking the back side for Chinese writing. You should also look for security tape and other subtle differences.

Police said the bills are imaged after the newer style $100 bills.
