Woman runs red light, nearly hits officer, police say

MADISON (WKOW) — A woman was arrested Monday afternoon after police say she ran a red light and nearly hit an officer.

Elizabeth Hakim, 31, faces charges of operating while intoxicated, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.

Police said this would be Hakim’s third OWI offense, according to a police incident report.

After stopping the vehicle about 2:50 p.m. at Anderson and Grimm streets in Madison, the officer noted the driver Hakim appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to the report.

Hakim was taken to the Dane County Jail.
