3 teens arrested after leading police on chase in stolen vehicle

DANE COUNTY (WKOW) — Three 14-year-old boys were arrested after stealing a car and leading police on a chase early Thursday morning, according to the Fitchburg Police Department.

At about 2:40 a.m. a Fitchburg police officer saw the stolen vehicle in the area of the Verona Road Frontage and Atticus Way. The officer tried to stop the car but it sped away.

A Town of Madison officer saw the vehicle shortly after and was able to deploy a tire deflation device. The teens continued driving.

A State Patrol trooper eventually located the vehicle on the Beltline Highway on Park Street. One of the tires had fallen off.

All three of the teens ran away, but they were soon located and taken into custody.

All of them are currently at the Juvenile Reception Center on multiple charges.
