Spring Green breeding facility issued warning from Sauk Co. Zoning

SPRING GREEN (WKOW) — The controversial dog breeding facility in Spring Green has received an official warning from Sauk County Planning and Zoning. The facility has drawn criticism for its efforts to breed dogs for medical research.

According to the complaint, the facility is currently zoned to house only 12 dogs over the age of 5 months, until it receives county approval to become a kennel. The complaint reports the facility has more than 60 dogs including 57 puppies born in November.

An official from the zoning office said Sauk County is waiting to enforce the violation until the Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Committee determines whether or not to issue the facility the proper permit. That vote is set for July 23.
