Columbia Co. man, home reportedly struck by lightning in separate incidents

COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) — Columbia County sheriff’s officials said they received separate reports that a man and home were struck by lightning in Thursday morning’s storms.

Dispatchers told 27 News, they got a call about a man reportedly hit by lightning at 4:45 a.m. He was at Indian Trail Campground in Pardeeville at the time of the strike. EMS told dispatchers the man was stable when transported to the hospital.

Also near Pardeeville, dispatchers said they received a call about a home reportedly struck by lightning around 5:15 a.m. They said the home appeared smokey and charred from the apparent lightning strike. The home is near the intersection of Brody Dr. and Payton Dr. No injuries were reported.
