Two burglary suspects arrested in the town of Cross Plains

MADISON (WKOW)– Dane County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men in connection with a burglary Wednesday afternoon in the town of Cross Plains.

Shortly after noon on July 17, a person called police about what they described as a suspicious person near a house on Valley Spring Road. Deputies noticed a damaged screen on a back door and saw a man running from the house. Police say someone saw a second man running from the same area a short time later.

Deputies found Fred L. Rushing, 21, of Fitchburg at a nearby bar and arrested him.

The deputies found an ID belonging to Tyrone K. Chrisco-Johnson, 28 of Fitchburg in a car at the scene. They searched for Chrisco-Johnson using a K-9 and a drone but they were not able to find him.

A short time later, a resident on N. Riley Road in the town of Springfield called 911 and stated that there was a suspicious person at her door. Deputies responded and found Chrisco-Johnson and arrested him.

Both men are being held in the Dane County jail.

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating if men are connected to other burglaries in the area.
