Preseason Week 1 Preview: Packers vs. Texans

It's the debut of the Matt LaFleur era in Green Bay. Wins and losses won't mean anything, but it'll be the first look at the new players, the new offense, and the new head coach for the Packers tonight at Lambeau Field.

Chris Peterson of Cheesehead TV offers up some ways the Packers could win, and the Texans could win, as part of his weekly preview series.

I know this is just a preseason game, but this staff wants to establish momentum and belief in this system. And since there is less time to learn, I think this will be treated more game-like than the Packers did under Mike McCarthy.

Due to that fact, as well as the heated battles at backup quarterback and receiver, I see Green Bay winning this game. The Packers are going to gives lots of reps to their young quarterbacks and their depth at wide receiver should help score points.

Plus, preseason or not, Green Bay always plays better at Lambeau.

This Houston offense is explosive and physical. It will be a test for the Packers defensively and the Texans pass rush should also provide a big challenge for the offensive line, which needs to protect better in 2019.
