Woman runs from Madison woman holding knife, police intervene

MADISON (WKOW) — Police arrested a Madison woman after someone claimed she chased her with a knife near the Capitol Square Tuesday evening.

Authorities booked 41-year-old Miracle L. Lloyd into the Dane County jail on charges of battery while armed, carrying a concealed knife, disorderly conduct, and felon in possession of an oleoresin device, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

The 28-year-old alleged victim told police she and Lloyd had a long-running dispute when the two crossed paths just before 7 p.m. on the 100 block of West Mifflin Street. Lloyd allegedly wanted to fight and punched the woman several times before she pulled out pepper spray.

The woman ran and Lloyd, police claim, chased after her while drawing out a knife. The victim feared for her life and believed Lloyd would “do something terrible to me,” according to authorities.

A UW-Madison police car happened to pull up during the chase. The woman ran to the squad and City of Madison officers arrived moments later.

Police allegedly recovered the pepper spray and knife before arresting Lloyd.
