FITCHBURG (WKOW) — A driver in a stolen SUV drove into a police car Monday afternoon, sparking a brief chase, according to Fitchburg Police.
The collision happened on the 4500 block of Thurston Lane, south and east of Verona Road and the Beltline.
The department says the officer spotted the vehicle parked on and was attempting to speak with the men in the white Audi SUV when the driver drove into the squad car, then sped away. The officer chased the SUV before stopping.
The officer wasn’t hurt.
Police say the SUV has some damage to the front passenger side.
