Madison police search for armed robbery suspects after scuffle on West Side

MADISON (WKOW) — A man was robbed in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot on Madison’s west side Tuesday night, according to the Madison Police Department.

It happened just before 10 p.m. in the 6900 block of Odana Road.

A father and his 14-year-old daughter were going to the store to pick up some items on layaway. The dad got out of the car while the daughter stayed in.

Before getting inside the store, police said two masked men jumped out of hiding and displayed a black handgun. The father was elbow checked and a scuffle ensued in which his glasses were broken and jacket ripped.

The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money before running away in the direction of Joann Fabrics.

MPD provided these descriptions:

Suspect # 1: African American Male; 13-17 Years Old, 5’09’’, Slender Build, Wearing a Black Ski Mask, Black Sweatshirt with Gray Hood String, and Black Athletic Pants. Armed with a Black Handgun.
Suspect # 2: African American Male; 13-17 Years Old, 5’09’’, Slender Build, Wearing a Black Ski Mask, Black Sweatshirt with Black Hood String, and Black Athletic Pants.
