Woman hurt following multiple overnight shootings in Madison

MADISON (WKOW) — A woman is hurt and a home damaged after multiple shooting incidents in Madison Thursday night, according to the Madison Police Department.

The first shooting happened just before 8:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Coolidge Street. Callers reported shots fired and a vehicle speeding away.

Officers said a specific house appears to have been the target, but there were no reported injuries or damages to that home. However, at about 10:40 p.m. police were called back to the scene for a report of a bullet found inside a man’s home nearby.

Investigators don’t believe the home was connected with the suspected target residence and got caught in the line of fire.

At about 9:30 p.m. more calls came into the 911 center. People reported shots fired in the 200 block of Bunting Lane. Shell casings were found in the roadway. Officers said two people who had been outside appeared to have been the target, but no injuries or damages were reported there.

As officers were on the scene of that shooting incident, they got a call from a nearby address on Oriole Lane. A 30-year-old woman said she had been struck by a bullet while inside her home.

The victim was in her bedroom when she was hit. The wound was non-life threatening. Her two young children were also in the home, but they were unharmed.

There’s no word if the shootings that happened Thursday are connected.

Authorities are investigating each case and looking for the suspects. If you know anything about the incidents call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.
