School officer, student injured in shooting at Oshkosh West High School

OSHKOSH (WKOW) -- A student and school resource officer were injured this morning in a shooting at Oshkosh West High School.

A police statement to ABC affiliate WBAY said a student was armed with a weapon and confronted a school resource officer.

The student and officer were both injured and transported to local hospitals.

No other injuries were reported, according to police.

This incident is being turned over to the state Department of Criminal Investigations who will conduct the investigation.

The school is currently locked down and parents can be reunited with their children at Perry Tipler Middle school.
