Sun Prairie police apprehend ‘possibly armed’ person after standoff

Sun Prairie police released more details about a person who barricaded themselves in a house on Tower Drive Tuesday morning.

Police had been looking for the person, a known violent offender, and when officers arrived at the 157 Tower Drive address around 10:22 a.m., he slammed the door in officers' faces and locked the entrance.

The home was that of an acquaintance of the suspect, police said.

As Sun Prairie police called for a SWAT team, the person surrendered peacefully to authorities at 11:41 a.m.
