Former Fall River Schools Superintendent Michael Garrow, who was fired in September, has filed a notice of claim against the district, claiming more than $14,000 in damages.
The notice of claim was filed in October and the board is expected to act on it at its meeting Wednesday evening. A notice of claim is filed as a precursor to a lawsuit.
According to the notice, Garrow's contract said he only could be fired for, "material breach of the (employment) contract or misconduct."
The claim says that the termination was not for misconduct or material breach of the contract, and that Garrow sustained damages of $14,413.14.
The notice of claim asks for relief to be determined by a jury.
