Art Fair on the Square canceled over COVID-19 concerns

The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) has canceled the 2020 Art Fair on the Square.

Organizers said they came to the decision "after weeks of careful deliberation about the challenging and evolving impacts of COVID-19."

The 2020 Art Fair on the Square was set to return on July 10 and 11.

Annik Dupaty, MMoCA’s Director of Events & Volunteers, said in a statement that, "As much as we want to help artists, and to offer our city a celebration of the arts while raising funds for the museum, we want to do our part to encourage health and safety first."

This event typically draws up to 200,000 people to the Capitol Square in downtown Madison and is MMoCA’s largest annual fundraiser.

According to MMoCA, the 2021 Art Fair on the Square is scheduled for July 10-11.
