Bishop Donald Hying from the Diocese of Madison said local Catholics can expect a plan about reopening churches next week.
Public Health Madison Dane County lists religious entities as essential businesses under its safer at home guidelines. It's allowing "reasonably-sized" public worships with social distancing measures.
However, the Diocese of Madison is comprised of 11 southern Wisconsin counties. Given the patchwork of county public health orders, coming up with a cohesive plan is likely to be a challenge.
