Edgewood College eliminating some tenured and tenure-track positions

Edgewood College today announced it is eliminating a number tenured and tenure-track faculty positions.

Today’s announcement is the latest in a series of steps taken in the recent past to align faculty and staff positions with changing student needs, according to a news release from the college

Work to simplify and consolidate the academic structure of the college, the student services division, and other areas began in earnest in August of 2018.

Since that time, the college offered a series of voluntary separation agreements to achieve a number of position eliminations aligned with changing student demographics and enrollment trends. Several faculty elected to accept the voluntary separation agreements.

Additional position eliminations from tenure track and tenured faculty are required to ensure the long-term financial viability of the college, according to the news release.
