Waunakee Police investigating after suspects fire shots

WAUNAKEE (WKOW) -- Waunakee Police are investigating a confrontation that involved multiple shots being fired this morning on Woodland Drive.

Police Chief Adam Kreitzman tells 27 News that a vehicle was stolen overnight from the home on 5900 Block of Woodland Drive. The suspects later returned to the home around 7:15 a.m. because something was left behind. The homeowner confronted the suspects, that's when one of them displayed a handgun and shots were fired.

Nobody was hurt. The suspects were gone by the time police arrived to the scene.
