OWI suspect found in DeForest after escaping arrest

UPDATE (WKOW) -- A man who initially escaped after being arrested from State Patrol troopers has been found and brought into custody.

Authorities say James J. Esposito was found in DeForest and was arrested without incident.

Early Friday morning Esposito ran off while still in handcuffs, as troopers were arresting him for his first OWI offense.

DEFOREST (WKOW) -- State Patrol troopers are looking for a man who escaped after being arrested for an OWI.

This started with a crash at mile marker 127 on Interstate 39/90/94 just after midnight Friday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says after an investigation, troopers arrested 25-year-old James Esposito of Channahon, Illinois for his first OWI offense.

Around 2 a.m., troopers say Esposito escaped while in the area of County Highway V and River Road and ran towards the City of DeForest.

Troopers say Esposito was still in handcuffs, barefoot and wearing a black hooded zip up sweatshirt and blue shorts.
