Goodman Pool reopening delayed due to weather

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's Goodman Pool will delay its reopening 24 hours due to weather and instead open for the season Thursday.

City staff confirmed the decision in an email to 27 News Wednesday. Forecasts showedscattered storms in the afternoon and evening.

The city first said on July 8 thatthe pool would reopenJuly 15 with some safety measures in place designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Water bottles are allowed, but carry-in food and other beverages will be banned.

Guests are asked to maintain a physical distance with others and wear a mask in the bathrooms or interacting with pool staff. Limited bathrooms and showers will be available and concessions will be closed.

If the weather is good, the pool hours will be broken up into three 2-hour sessions from 12:00-2:00 p.m., 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Admission is $3 person, per session.
