No one hurt following east side Madison shooting, police say

MADISON (WKOW) -- People inside a home on Madison's east side dove to the ground as someone shot at the home from the street early Monday morning,according to a police incident report.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Acewood Boulevard at 3:53 a.m.

Authorities said they found 20 shell casings in the road.

Multiple bullets hit the house, with some flying into two occupied bedrooms. One round hit another house and gunfire also hit a parked car.

Police said no one was hurt, though people inside the home hit the floor during the shooting.

Witnesses said they saw a small, newer SUV drive away quickly with its headlights off, according to authorities.

The police department's Violent Crime Unit is leading an investigation.
