Juvenile arrested after stolen vehicle crashes into Madison home

MADISON (WKOW) -- A stolen vehicle crashed into a home on Madison's west side after a pursuit with law enforcement early Tuesday morning.

Police said officers were called to a home in the 1200 block of South Whitney Way just after 1:00 a.m.

The vehicle crashed into the home after being chased by multiple outside agencies, including the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

A juvenile driver was arrested after the crash. Sheriffs officials say two male passengers in the vehicle ran away and were not found, despite the use of a K9 used to search the area.

The Madison Police Department was asked to help in stopping the vehicle, but no Madison officers took part in the pursuit, according to police.

Police said evidence of rifle ammunition and burglary tools were recovered in the stolen vehicle.

The driver was transported to Juvenile Reception Center for criminal charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle without Owner's Consent, Knowingly Fleeing from an Officer and Resisting.

An investigation is ongoing and additional property damage and evidence is being processed as well.
