10 charges filed against Blooming Grove gas station homicide suspect

BLOOMING GROVE (WKOW) — A man has been charged with killing another man at a Blooming Grove gas station Sunday.

Trevon Adams, 29, appeared in court on Tuesday. He is facing 10 charges for the shooting: first-degree intentional homicide, attempting to flee or elude an officer, possession of a firearm by a felon and seven counts of bail jumping. The judge set a $1 million cash bond.

According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, several people witnessed the shooting at the Kwik Trip at 4112 Milwaukee Street, which took place around 9:20 a.m. All three witnesses police spoke to shared a similar story — a driver of a dark SUV was shot by someone outside of the vehicle. One witness said the driver continued through the parking lot and crashed into a retaining wall on Walbridge Avenue. He was then pulled out of the vehicle by the person who shot him, and the suspect drove away in the victim's vehicle.

Adams was taken into custody at around 11:01 a.m., after leading police on a chase in and around Madison.

According to the criminal complaint, Adams claimed he was high at the time of the crime, indicating to police he was using meth. The complaint shows once he was in custody, he told officers he shot the victim twice, but did not offer an explanation as to why.
