IOWA COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) — The victim and suspect in an Iowa County homicide were identified Friday evening.
The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says the Ridgeway Marshal's Office and Iowa County Deputy responded to a welfare check on Feb. 12 when they found a deceased man, Todd Nechkash Sr., 62, of the Village of Ridgeway.
The suspect is Kelli R. Nechkash, 67 of Black Earth.
Authorities say Todd and Kelli Nechkash are married but maintained separate residences.
The day before Todd was found dead, on Wednesday Feb. 11, Kelli Nechkash crashed a vehicle in Mineral Point and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, a 6th offense.
After Todd Nechkash Sr. was found, a homicide investigation was opened with Kelli Nechkash as the suspect.
She is currently in custody at the Iowa County Jail. Formal homicide related charges are expected in cooperation with the Iowa County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities say there is no danger to the public. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
