MADISON (WKOW) — The groups involved in taking ownership of nearly 1,000 beagles from Ridglan Farms are holding a press conference Thursday to share more information on the transaction.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue posted on its website yesterday that it had reached an agreement with Ridglan Farms to acquire the animals. Ridglan Farms confirmed that agreement to 27 News.
Ridglan Farms, located in the Town of Blue Mounds, has been known as one of the largest beagle breeding research facilities in the U.S.
Lauree Simmons, president and founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue and Wayne Pacelle, president of the Center for a Humane Economy and Animal Wellness Action are holding the press conference at a hotel in Madison. You can watch live in the video player above.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue was founded in 2008. The organization said it has saved more than 88,000 dogs.
The Center for a Humane Economy is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) whose mission is to "help animals by helping forge a more humane economic order."
