For the first time since before the All-Star Break in 2018, when Pittsburgh did it to Milwaukee in five games, the Milwaukee Brewers were swept by the Los Angeles Angels, losing 4-2 on Wednesday and dropping all three contests in a three-game series.
Brandon Woodruff pitched six innings, but it was a four-run third inning for the Angels that did the Brewers in, turning a 1-0 lead into a 4-1 deficit that Milwaukee couldn't come back from.
Milwaukee will stay in Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers in a three-game series beginning Friday night. It's a rematch of last year's NLCS, which Los Angeles won in seven games.
With the sweep, the Brewers are still in first place in the NL Central, but by only a half-game over Pittsburgh and St. Louis. The upcoming Brewers-Dodgers series will match the two teams with the best records in the National League.
