Brewers hang on to win 5-4 over Braves

A ninth-inning gaffe behind the plate allowed the Atlanta Braves to close to within one run, but the Milwaukee Brewers held on to win 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park.

The Brewers took a 5-2 lead to the ninth, but the Braves got two back thanks to a passed ball that gave Atlanta new life. Josh Donaldson, who recorded all four RBI for the Braves, hit a single up the middle to plate two in the top of the ninth. Josh Hader struck out the next batter to end the game.

Chase Anderson worked into the sixth for the Brewers, and held Atlanta scoreless during his time up. Christian Yelich hit another home run in the win as well.

Milwaukee's series win was the first over a team with a winning record since accomplishing the feat in May against Philadelphia.

The Brewers now hit the road for four games against Arizona beginning Thursday night.
