Freddy Peralta to ink multi-year extension with Brewers

Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta has reportedly signed a five-year contract extension worth $16 million, with club options that could push the total over $30 million, according to The Athletic.

Ken Rosenthal reported Wednesday morning that the deal was being finalized, and likened it to a deal signed by Chicago White Sox reliever Aaron Bummer.

Peralta, who will turn 24 in June, has pitched in 55 games for the Brewers during the regular season, recording a 4.79 ERA. Peralta has struck out 211 batters in 163 and one-third innings of work in his career, facing 703 batters. He also owns one postseason appearance, facing 12 batters and striking out six of them in the 2018 NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Peralta was acquired in the Adam Lind trade in 2015 with the Seattle Mariners.
