Brewers earn crucial win over Reds 3-2 Tuesday night

Chasing the playoffs in the final week of the regular season, the Milwaukee Brewers picked up a big win Tuesday night, as Eric Sogard drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to deliver a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Milwaukee trailed 2-1 entering the top of the seventh, but tacked on the two runs to take the lead.

Devin Williams pitched scoreless innings in the bottom of the seventh and eighth, allowing one walk but striking out five. Josh Hader closed the door with two strikeouts in a perfect ninth to clinch the game for Milwaukee. With starter Brett Anderson's efforts, the Brewers struck out 14 Reds.

The finale of the three-game series between the teams is set for Wednesday evening, with Milwaukee trailing the Reds for the final playoff spot despite matching .500 records due to tiebreakers.
