Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Judge Brian Hagedorn joined the Dan O'Donnell Show Tuesday to make his final case to voters, calling himself the only candidate who will apply the law in a fair and impartial manner.
"I believe my job as a judge is to say what the law is, not what the law should be," Hagedorn said. "Judge [Lisa] Neubauer has a different philosophy. She has articulated a form of Living Constitutionalism; this idea that the Constitution is a little bit malleable, a little bit out of date, and that she's wise enough along with other judges to rewrite it in their own image."
Judge Hagedorn also expressed his belif Neubauer's attacks on his Christian faith are all but disqualifying since they reveal a deep-seated bias against religious people.
"I am just shocked at the lengths she will go to just misrepresent and lie about me," he said. "We've worked together [on the second district of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals] for several years and the fact that she has never once raised an issue with how I conduct myself, in the way we relate to one another, any of those things and for her to come out in public and say these things that she knows are not true about who I am I think is shameful.
"I'm hopeful that people will see through that and see through those deceptions today."
