MADISON (WKOW) -- Races for three seats on the Madison Common Council are now set after Tuesday's primary election.
Perhaps the most closely-watched race in the city was in District 9. Paul Skidmore currently holds the seat in the district. Skidmorehas been accused of using a vulgar termto refer to a woman during a virtual council meeting last fall. Skidmore denies the voice on the recording is his.
The top two finishers in Tuesday's primary move on to the April election.Unofficial resultsfrom show Nikki Conklin won the primary in District 9. Skidmore came in second. Skidmore beat the third place finisher, Anthony Amato, by just 25 votes (651-626).
Two other alder races in Madison had primaries.
In District 16, Jael Currie and Matt Tramel advanced to the April election.
In District 18, the top two finishers were incumbent Rebecca Kemble and Charles Myadze.
All three races will be decided on Tuesday, April 6.
